Doors that stick, sag, or won't latch, fixed. New interior and exterior doors hung square. For homes and rentals in Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas, and across Clark County.
A door that sticks, sags, or won't latch still gets used every day. Most of the time the fix is in the hinges, the strike, or the frame, not a new door. When it is time to replace one, the new door goes in square and swings shut on its own weight.

Three doors, hung and cased. Pre-hung shaker doors in Washougal, set square and cased to match the window beside them.

Latching again. A strike plate reset in an older jamb, so the door closes and stays closed without a shove.

Planning door repair & installation
Why does my door stick or rub at the top?
Usually the top hinge has worked loose and the door is sagging toward the latch side. Longer screws driven through the hinge into the framing pull it back. Planing the door is the last resort, not the first.
My door won't latch. Does it need to be replaced?
Almost never. The latch and the strike plate have drifted out of line, usually because the house settled or the hinges loosened. Re-setting the strike or tightening the hinges brings them back together.
Should I replace just the door or the whole frame?
If the frame is square and solid, a new slab hung on the existing frame is the simpler job. If the frame is damaged, out of square, or you're changing which way the door swings, a pre-hung door with its own frame is the better fit.
Do you install exterior doors?
Yes. Exterior doors get shimmed square, sealed, and weatherstripped so they close tight and keep the rain out. Interior doors, closet doors, and hardware swaps too.
How do I stop a draft around my front door?
Most drafts come from worn weatherstripping, a gap under the door, or a strike that doesn't pull the door tight against the stop. New weatherstripping, a door sweep, and an adjusted strike usually fix it.
How is door work priced?
Repairs like a sticking door or a latch that won't catch are billed as a $95 trip fee, then $75 an hour. New door installs get a flat quote after photos or a walkthrough, so you know the number before work starts.
When does a door problem need more than an adjustment?
A rotted frame, ongoing water entry, sudden movement, or damage around the opening needs evaluation before a hardware repair is agreed. Changing the opening or structural framing can require permit review or specialist work. Electrical work for powered hardware is assessed separately and referred to the appropriate licensed trade when required.
